Haast Beach Holiday Park is ideally situated between the Hapuka and Turnbull Rivers with the Okuru River a stone's throw away, and within walking distance of the beach.
Even though we are 15 km off the main Highway, the scenic route and the peace and tranquility is worth the drive.
Generously supplied with facilities, Haast Beach Holiday Park has two good kitchens, one being combined with a split level dining room, with wood burner and TV. The ablutions are plentiful with a good supply of hot water.
Haast Beach Holiday Park accommodation options include Self Contained Motels, Tourist Flats, Kitchen Cabins, and Standard Cabins. Special Access cabin is available.
For Caravanners and Campers we offer spacious Powered and Non-Powered Sites, located close to our amenities. Lodges are also available for groups and backpackers
Haast and nearby attractions and things to see and do include:
- Hapuka Estuary Nature Walk has abundant birdlife. White herons can at times be seen feeding, small fish and trout can be spotted in the creeks and from the jetty.
- Fishing suitable for all ages and abilities. Excellent sea and river-fishing and whitebaiting (in season).
- Hunting - All-year-round hunting for red deer.
- Paradise for jet-boaters and kayakers, with numerous rivers a short drive from the Park.
- Visit the Penguin Colony (October-February) at Jackson Bay, and enjoy the short walks. Keep a sharp lookout for the dolphins and the odd whale that can be seen along the coast.
- Knights Point Viewpoint - About 30km north of Haast, Knights Point is a majestic rocky outcrop dropping into the sea. Excellent views, and there are picnic tables and toilet facilities.
- Watch the golden sunsets on the beach, enjoy the sereny and relax!
