Robyn, Ross and Sam (our Border collie) welcome you to Rakaia River Holiday Park, located beside the Rakaia River, one of the best salmon fishing rivers in New Zealand.
Rakaia has NOT been affected by any of the recent earthquake activity, and Rakaia River Holiday Park is open for business and operating normally!
Rakaia is just a 40 minutes drive South of Christchurch International Airport, 20 minutes to Ashburton and 35 minutes to the Mt Hutt Ski area.
We are sure to have something to fit your requirements and budget, with our range of Rakaia Accommodation options that include:
- Park Motels: When your family wants all of the comforts of home, our parks motels are the ideal choice.
- Ensuite Fisherman's Cottage: If you want affordability and space- our elderly fisherman's cottage is like a little house, with 2 bedrooms.
- Backpacker Cabins: These little cabins have either a queen bed or one set of bunks. They are affordable accommodation when you are on a budget.
- Onsite Caravans: Our caravans all have awnings and have either 2 single beds, 3 single beds, or a pull out double and 2 single beds.
- Powered and Tent Sites: Campervans and motor homes are welcome and we have a dump station on site. If you have a large bus or other vehicle we can cater for you as well.
- Easi Camp: We have a 2 room family tent set up with a fully made up queen air bed, a set of stretcher bunks and everything you need for an easy camping experience. All you need is some tucka and sleeping bags for the kids. (sleeps maximum of 2 adults and 2 children).
You will find Rakaia River Holiday Park only 40 minutes drive South of Christchurch, 20 minutes to Ashburton and 35 minutes to the Mt Hutt Ski area. In only 30 minutes you can drive to 5 beautiful and challenging golf courses.
If its fishing you are after - there are Salmon and trout in the river and Kawhai, Cod and other sea fishing only 10 minutes drive away.
