Bob Farmer President of VicParks from 2003 to 2006 died on Thursday, Feb. 4.

He was a good man. The caravan industry has lost a friend with a unique ability to apply statesman like logic for the good of all concerned.

Bob had a proven ability to assist the hesitant.

ContACT Internet Solutions and GoSeeAustralia Managing Director Graham Wallace said today:

"Bob was a caring soul who cared for and helped everyone".

"His knowledge of the industry was extensive and he mentored many owners".

"He spent a time on both CRVA and VIC Parks boards and was President of Vic parks for several terms. He was on the accreditation panel and championed industry standards".

"His efforts contributed to making the industry better than when he entered it."

"He will be missed!"

"Bob was a mentor in the caravan and camping industry", GoSeeAustralia's Sales and Marketing Manager Alan Hislop said today.

"He was a very kind and generous man who was willing to put in time and effort with someone he believed in and give them a chance".

"He valued friendship and was a valued friend".

"Bob had an ability to research everything thoroughly and to access the result of change from all angles".

He fought a long battle with illness with courage and grace, Alan Hislop said

Bob Farmer retired at the 41st annual general meeting of the Victorian Caravan Parks Association in Shepparton in 2006 with his job well done. Bob 'Polly' Farmer was vice president for seven years and president from 2003 to 2006. He is a life member of VicParks for his sustained efforts which included seven years as Vice President and three in the leading role of president of VicParks.

Bob continued to take a close interest in the caravan industry after his retirement as he and his beloved wife Milena turned their holiday escape apartment in Wodonga into their permanent home.

And GoSeeAustralia benefitted from Bob's input as an advisor and occasional writer.

The hyperlinks attached reflect his involvement and love of caravanning and camping.

In 2013, recently converted to towing a caravan Bob said:

"I want to fire up the Jeep, dust off the Jayco Sterling 21 footer and head west beside the Murray River.

"We itch to get on the road and travel, inland in autumn, winter and early spring, you know, a great big clear blue sky by day and lots of bright stars at night with a safe camp fire for cooking and warmth".

He did not add music to his idea of a perfect campsite, but maybe being Bob he had a plan.

Bob loved music and sent thousands of his favorites to the security of The Cloud.

Which GSA hopes means that it is possible to take it with you.
